Schwehr, Bradley Joseph
With the development of correlative imaging, a technique that combines multiple imaging modalities, arises a need for specialised molecular probes. This work introduces a modular design for the synthesis of novel BODIPY-based probes. The probes featured excellent photophysical properties, high electron density, and biologically rare elements. Investigated for subcellular imaging, they hold promise as theranostic agents for glioblastoma.

Belhoul-Fakir, Hanane
Atherosclerosis is initiated in the arterial intima following injury, while media is the least known in atherogenesis. This thesis examined changes to the media following micro-injuries in pig aortas and assessed human carotid plaques to detect atherogenesis in the media. This thesis presents evidence that atherogenesis can begin in the medial layer, potentially influencing plaque rupture mechanisms. Furthermore, this work supports TNFa-CSG as a promising anti-atherosclerotic drug, offering a unique lipid-clearing approach compared to current therapies.

The thesis looks into amylin, a type of protein linked to type-2 diabetes. Using computer simulations, the study examines the individual forms of amylin in both humans and rats. The research validates the methods and looks at how different chemicals HFIP, TMAO and urea affects amylin structure. The results provide a better understanding of amylin's basic form, how it changes in different conditions.

Purposes Among Rural Entrepreneurs
Yeo, Hui Hui
This study aims to determine the factors affecting the use of digital information sources for work information among the rural entrepreneurs in Malaysia using cost-benefit theory and theory of planned behavior. The research findings indicate that source accessibility and quality of information are positively related to use of digital information sources where use of digital information is also positively related to task performance. The findings of this study are to benefit the Malaysian government, policymakers and build confidence among rural entrepreneurs.
