dc.description.abstract

The main goal of this study is to analyse ramp metering effects on traffic of Perth’s Mitchell Freeway, the only freeway connecting Perth’s northern suburbs to City’s central business district. This is achieved by conducting micro –simulation modelling of the base modelling of freeway, and then including ramp metering in the model. Ramp metering effects were studied by comparison of different parameters in the base model and ramp metered model.
