Abstract
Hierarchical control schemes for the proper operation and control of the Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) in AC and DC microgrids are proposed. The proposed control algorithms are tested through numerical simulations for parallel connected three phase and single phase DERs in interconnected multi-microgrid systems under various operating conditions such as grid connected, off-grid and hybrid operations. Further, a power circulation mechanism is proposed for power sharing among the different phases in an unbalanced microgrid.
