Evolution of Char Structure and Reactivity during Gasification
MetadataShow full item record
The purpose of this study was to understand the effects of char structure on its gasification reactivity. FT-IR/Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies were used to obtain detailed information about the structural features of char during the gasification of mallee wood biomass in oxidising and reducing atmospheres. The effects of biomass particle size, gasification temperature and atmosphere on the evolution of char structure were investigated.

Effects of gasification atmosphere and temperature on char structural evolution during the gasification of Collie sub-bituminous coalLi, Tingting; Zhang, Lei; Dong, Li; Li, Chun-Zhu (2014)Char structure is one of the important factors influencing the char reactivity during gasification. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of gasification atmosphere and temperature on the changes of char ...
Changes in char structure during the thermal treatment of nascent chars in N<inf>2</inf> and subsequent gasification in O<inf>2</inf>Zhang, L.; Li, T.; Wang, Shuai; Song, Y.; Dong, Li; Zhang, Shu; Li, Chun-Zhu (2017)© 2017 Elsevier LtdThis study aims to investigate the structural features of nascent char. Two nascent chars were prepared from the pyrolysis of Loy Yang brown coal and Collie sub-bituminous coal in a wire-mesh reactor ...
Mechanisms and kinetic modelling of steam gasification of brown coal in the presence of volatile–char interactionskajitani, Shiro; Tay, Hui-ling; Zhang, Shu; Li, Chun-Zhu (2013)It is known that Victorian brown coal has higher reactivity for gasification because of catalysis of inherent AAEMspecies than high-rank coal. However, the experimental results of steam gasification of brown coal in a ...
