The aim of this work is to study stiffness and damping characteristics of wire rope isolators (WRI). The analytical models were developed for both vertical and lateral stiffness and found to have good agreement with the test. The lateral symmetric-hysteresis behaviour was modelled using the Bouc-Wen model and for vertical asymmetric-hysteresis behaviour, Modified Bouc-Wen was developed. The case-study on the raised-floor method showed that the WRI is effective for the excitations studied in this work. | en_US |
