The aim of this research is to study the performance of fine palm oil fuel ash (POFA) to control ammonium nitrate attack in cement paste. The mechanical, durability and micro-structural properties of the modified cement paste in room temperature and in ammonium nitrate condition was studied. Based on the test results, it was observed that, 20% POFA based paste provided better resistance in room temperature and in ammonium nitrate solution.

Isotopic characterization of nitrate, ammonium and sulfate in stack PM2.5 emissions in the Athabasca Oil Sands Region, Alberta, CanadaProemse, Bernadette; Mayer, B.; Chow, J.; Watson, J. (2012)Stable isotope techniques may be a suitable tool for tracing industrial emissions in the atmosphere and the environment provided that the isotopic compositions of industrial emissions are distinct. We determined the ...
Effects of Aggressive Ammonium Nitrate on Durability Properties of Concrete using Sandstone and Granite AggregatesWong, L.; Asrah, H.; Rahman, Muhammad; Mannan, M. (2013)The storage of chemical fertilizers in concrete building often leads to durability problems due to chemical attack. The damage of concrete is mostly caused by certain ammonium salts. The main purpose of the research is ...
Distributions and compound-specific isotopic signatures of sedimentary chlorins reflect the composition of photoautotrophic communities and their carbon and nitrogen sources in Swiss lakes and the Black SeaNaeher, Sebastian; Suga, H.; Ogawa, N.; Takano, Y.; Schubert, C.; Grice, Kliti; Ohkouchi, N. (2016)We examined the distributions of tetrapyrrole pigments (i.e. intact chlorophylls and bacteriochlorophylls, pheopigments) as well as their compound-specific carbon and nitrogen isotopic compositions in the sediments of ...
