Investigation of Traffic Flow Characteristics Parameters in Major National Highways of Bangladesh
MetadataShow full item record
The research is performed to investigate the detail traffic flow parameters of three major National Highways of Bangladesh. Traffic flow indicators including traffic growth pattern, traffic compositions, directional distribution, truck and bus percentages, seasonal flow variations, weekly and daily flow characteristics, expansion factors, regression models for AADT estimation, and artificial neural network (ANNs) models are analyzed separately for the selected highways in this research work.

A intelligent particle swarm optimization for short-term traffic flow forecasting using on-road sensor systemsChan, Kit Yan; Dillon, Tharam; Chang, Elizabeth (2013)On-road sensor systems installed on freeways are used to capture traffic flow data for short-term traffic flow predictors for traffic management, in order to reduce traffic congestion and improve vehicular mobility. This ...
On-road sensor configuration design for traffic flow prediction using fuzzy neural networks and Taguchi methodChan, Kit Yan; Dillon, Tharam (2013)On-road sensors provide proactive traffic control centers with current traffic flow conditions in order to forecast the future conditions. However, the number of on-road sensors is usually huge, and not all traffic flow ...
