Exenatide is an Incretin Mimetic which stimulates insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon secretion and inhibits gastric emptying. This study aimed to evaluate the stability of exenatide in aqueous solutions. Exenatide was most stable at pH 6 and the reaction rate was highly temperature dependent. Exenatide degradation followed first order kinetics under all conditions employed. Future studies should aim at investigating a more stable exenatide formulation and a more convenient route of administration. | |
