This research serves to understand local bubble hydrodynamics of multiphase stirred tanks using optical probe measurements. The potential of probe to measure gas phase and liquid/solid phase was demonstrated using high speed imaging and PIV techniques. Detailed measurements were then carried out in stirred tanks to understand the impact of operating conditions, baffles, solid loading and impeller geometry on gas phase hydrodynamics. Reported data would be invaluable for CFD model validation, design and scale up. | en_US |
