dc.description.abstract

Inclusion of recycled concrete aggregates (RCAs) in asphalt mixtures can reduce the depletion of natural aggregates (NAs) by providing an alternative material for hot-mix asphalt (HMA). The addition of RCAs, however, can widely affect the performance of RCA–asphalt mixtures. This thesis develops two states of the art Double Coating Techniques for RCAs used in asphalt mixtures. The results revealed that the double coated RCAs could be potential replacements for natural aggregates in asphalt mixtures.
