dc.description.abstract

This study investigates the use of Carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) tendons on precast segmental concrete bridge beams (PSBs). Experimental and numerical results have approved the feasibility of applying CFRP tendons on this type of structure in construction practice for corrosion control that allows to reduce lifecycle maintenance costs of the structure. A new analytical procedure for predicting deflections and closed-form equations to estimate the balanced reinforcement ratio of PSBs with unbonded tendons are also developed.
