dc.description.abstract

The presence of mercury in reservoir hydrocarbon fluid is termed as safety risk as it readily distributes between streams in the production process. There is a knowledge gap in understanding of mercury distribution in the upstream system due to multiphase flowline behaviour during steady state and transient operations.

This research has focussed on the current gaps in the industry knowledge on impact of mercury distribution through production facility using process and multiphase simulations.
