This study investigated the use of ground ferronickel slag (GFNS) as a precursor for geopolymer binder. Maximum compressive strengths of the geopolymer pastes and mortar were achieved by using 75% GFNS as a replacement of fly ash. The reaction product N-M-A-S-H improved the mechanical properties and durability performance of fly ash-GFNS geopolymer binder. Overall, the use of GFNS as a geopolymer precursor was found a promising option to produce green construction materials. | en_US |
