dc.description.abstract

This thesis comprises of a review of Australian impact structures. Roughly 26% of terrestrial impacts hold economic resource. Fifteen percent of terrestrial impacts occur in Australia, however, many remain unassessed regarding economic potential. Three detailed site-specific studies of proposed impact structures in Western Australia were conducted, two of which are mineral exploration targets. This thesis resulted in the confirmation of two new impact structures, a significant contribution to the Australian and global inventory.
