dc.description.abstract

This thesis studied the performance of native Australian plant species for nutrient and metal removal from stormwater in a floating wetland system. It proposed a new method to estimate nutrient removal kinetics and investigated metal removal behavior in the presence of nutrients. It also studied how design configurations of floating wetland influence hydraulics and treatment efficiency of floating wetland retrofitted in stormwater pond. It proposed efficient designs to improve hydraulic conditions and treatment efficiency.
