Abstract
This dissertation evaluated the role of composition and microstructure on hydrogen embrittlement resistance of dual-phase low alloy steels. Microstructure design was used to enhance the alloy’s performance under hydrogen-bearing environments. This work provides a better understanding of the influence of nickel additions to low alloy steels on hydrogen diffusion, uptake, and embrittlement resistance.
