Abstract
This research work was focused on optimizing and modifying a newly developed RPM that can be used in carbonate reservoirs. To fully understand the mechanistic aspects of polymeric relative permeability modifier, a group of core flooding tests were carried out to test the new RPM under mimicking geological conditions. The variations of relative permeability before and after treatment in oil/gas carbonate cores were quantitatively evaluated, and the mechanisms of multiphase flow characteristics of brine-oil/gas-RPM were explored.
