dc.description.abstract

This research covers the synthesis and screening process to develop a novel, environmentally friendly, cost-effective, non-fluorinated chemical treatment using a new benzoxazine monomer. The treatment acts as a wettability modifier to combat water blockage around CO2 injection wells. The effect of the chemical treatment was assessed at different chemical concentrations, rock permeability, and chemical polymerisation conditions. The laboratory and numerical simulation investigations have revealed promising performance for this novel treatment under harsh subsurface conditions.
