dc.description.abstract

This study assesses climate change impacts on socio-environmental vulnerability in Sarawak, Malaysia. Three essays focus on evaluating exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity, adapting a vulnerability model for Sarawak, and integrating socio-environmental factors into a vulnerability index mapping. Findings reveal Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri as highly vulnerable, in contrast to Sebauh, Tatau, and Subis which demonstrate lower vulnerability. The study emphasizes the need for improved management, policies, laws, and regulations in Malaysia to address climate change risks.
