Abstract
More opportunities are needed to encourage ageing adults to participate in physical activity. This thesis presents a step-by-step design process of a theory-informed and evidence-based intervention to promote physical activity in ageing adults. The novel intervention promotes Vigorous Intermittent Lifestyle Physical Activity that can be performed anywhere, anytime, and requires no special skills or equipment. The intervention was found to be feasible and acceptable and has the potential to increase physical activity in ageing adults.
