    Abstract

Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems encounter Partial Shading Condition (PSC) issues due to uneven solar irradiance exposure on-site. This thesis presents three novel algorithms to address the PSC issues of PV systems namely, the Artificial Location Selection Optimization (ALSO) algorithm, the Modified ALSO-Hill Climbing (ALSO-HC) hybrid algorithm, and the Modified-Delta P (M-DP) algorithm. Further, the effectiveness of these proposed algorithms over the conventional algorithms was verified and validated through the numerical simulations and experimental works.
