Abstract
This practice-led research project uses strategies of historiographic metafiction and discourse analysis to interrogate the absence of queer Australian historical fiction for YA readers. In scrutinising criminalised spaces in Australia’s 19th century, both exegesis and creative work explore ways to tell authentic stories of queer resilience and resistance.
