Abstract
A novel Computational Fluid Dynamics model based on boundary layer mass transfer theory was developed to predict frost formation rates across a range of general-low to ultra-low temperatures. The model accounts for the movement of ice particles, a phenomenon that is ignored in existing models. Validation of the model against experimental data demonstrated strong agreement with observed trends. This advancement opens the door to frost modelling in more complex geometries across wide operating conditions.
