Abstract
This thesis investigates how city planning contributes to inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable urban environments, focusing on Quezon City, Philippines. Using a case study approach, the research utilises document analysis, interviews and focus groups with local officials, community leaders and stakeholders to explore the integration of Sustainable Development Goal 11 into local planning. The study highlights critical gaps and opportunities providing insights and recommendations for enhancing urban governance and community engagement in rapidly urbanising cities.
