This paper provides a snapshot of the Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and the Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) offered through the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Curtin University of Technology. The Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) at Curtin was the first course to be offered in Western Australia after the School won a tender called by the Department of Health Western Australia in 2002. The journey taken with the developmental process, the initiativesoccurring along the way and the use of informatics in the programs are discussed. The School of Nursing and Midwifery is proud of its successful nurse practitioner graduates and its part in preparing them as leaders to meet the challenges in the health care sector. | |
