Study of scale effect on strength characteristic of stabilised composite with sewage sludge – Part A: Preliminary study
MetadataShow full item record
Nowadays, the sustainable management of wastewater materials is a highly debated issue around the world. In recent years, there has been a tendency to use sewage sludge for agricultural applications. However, there has been limited investigation of the utilisation of sewage sludge for geotechnical applications. Taking into account that the use of large-scale and material characterisation tests has not been properly addressed so far, this research presents a comprehensive study on sewage sludge stabilisation in two parts; part A: a review and preliminary study, and part B: a comprehensive experimental and microanalytical investigation.

Effect of Ultrasonic, Microwave and Combined Microwave–Ultrasonic Pretreatment of Municipal Sludge on Anaerobic Digester PerformanceYeneneh, Anteneh; Chong, Siew; Sen, Tushar; Ang, Ha Ming; Kayaalp, A. (2013)Anaerobic digestion is one of the most effective means for the stabilisation of sludge. However, it has a very slow rate-limiting hydrolysis phase which is attributed to the low biodegradability of cell walls and the ...
Release of organic sulfur as sulfur-containing gases during low temperature pyrolysis of sewage sludgeLiu, S.; Wei, M.; Qiao, Y.; Yang, Z.; Gui, B.; Yu, Yun; Xu, M. (2015)This study reports the release of five sulfur-containing odorants (H2S, SO2, COS, CS2 and CH3SH) during the pyrolysis of sewage sludge. Pyrolysis experiments using both raw sewage sludge and seven sludge samples loaded ...
