dc.description.abstract |
The use of parametric modelling as both a visualization and fabrication tool is an area of rapid growth in design and construction industry. These programs, coupled with technology such as Rapid Manufacturing or Prototyping, have the potential to allow designers to test and analyze projects on both macro and micro levels with a minimum of user input. (Figure 1) This form of modelling has vast applicaiton in the design and testing of intelligent and interactive building systems as well as the fabrication of complex custom structural elements. Although it is possible to create working models such as these through the use of current CAD and parametric programs, the process can still be lengthy and complex without the level of intuitive programming required to make it a viable technique in everyday practice | |
