Musical transcription from musical data into score is commonly performed by software running on a PC. This involves significant delay, which can be considerably reduced by hardware implementation. This paper presents a hardware design and implementation of the frequency identification system, one of the most important functions in musical transcription, accomplished through the use of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm implemented in a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). | |
