    Abstract

This study investigated the extent to which the teaching and learning of acids and bases in seven Malaysian urban and rural schools was consistent with the intentions of the secondary school Chemistry curriculum. This case study was concerned with the intended, implemented, perceived, and achieved curriculum. In answering five research questions, three questionnaires and a conceptual test were administered to nine teachers and more than 250 students. The research concluded with 36 findings.
