dc.description.abstract

This study investigated existing leptospirosis risk factors for the purpose of developing of an intervention program in a leptospirosis-endemic area with a paucity of available leptospirosis risk factor data. The study undertook a variety of activities: a review of previous risk factor studies; a socio-behavioural study; field observations; a 'knowledge, attitude and practice' survey, and an intervention project. Local specific and non-specific leptospirosis risk factors were identified, and an intervention program was achieved.
