Abstract
Metal-based catalysts have been widely used for the aqueous-phase oxidation of organic pollutants for water purification. Metal-free catalysis in the oxidative degradation of pollutants is now reported by H. Sun, S. Wang, and co-workers on page 3036. Using density functional theory and rational design, sulfur and nitrogen co-doping into 2D carbon frameworks presents excellent catalytic efficiency due to synergistic effects.
