White noise: A time domain basis
MetadataShow full item record
Time domain definitions for finite bandwidth white noise, and filtered white noise, are detailed and are of pedagogical value. The associated power spectral density and autocorrelation functions are given. The potential Gaussianity of white noise is noted.

Khodabandeh, Amir; Amiri-Simkooei, A.; Sharifi, M. (2012)The efficacy of robust M-estimators is a well-known issue when dealing with observational blunders. When the number of observations is considerably large-long time series for instance-one can take advantage of the asymptotic ...
Amiri-Simkooei, A.; Tiberius, C.; Teunissen, Peter (2007)We propose a methodology to assess the noise characteristics in time series of position estimates for permanent Global Positioning System (GPS) stations. Least squares variance component estimation (LS-VCE) is adopted to ...
Cordes, J.; Shannon, Ryan (2012)We assess the detectability of a nanohertz gravitational wave (GW) background in a pulsar timing array (PTA) program by considering the shape and amplitude of the cross-correlation function summed over pulsar pairs. The ...
