Abstract
The Swan Bells is a bell tower project within the Barrack Square RedevelopmentProject in Perth, Western Australia. It poses a philosophic architectural and heritageproblem: how to respond to the often conflicting requirements that monumentsembody both celebration and critique. The Swan Bells is a problematic response toPerth?s heritage needs for a mature city icon.
