Synchronisation and chaos in a laser diode driven by a resonant tunnelling diode
MetadataShow full item record
The authors report on a hybrid integration of a resonant tunnelling diode laser diode driver configuration that can operate as a self-oscillating circuit, and when externally perturbed shows regions of frequency division and frequency multiplication, quasi-periodic and chaotic oscillations, both in the optical and electrical outputs. The authors also demonstrate that this optoelectronic circuit is well described as a Liénard's oscillator. The synchronisation capabilities of the circuit have potentially novel functions for optical communications systems including clock recovery, clock division and data encryption. © 2008 The Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Voltage-sharing converter to supply single-phase asymmetrical four-level diode-clamped inverter with high power factor loadsBoora, A.; Nami, A.; zare, F.; Ghosh, Arindam; Blaabjerg, F. (2010)The output voltage quality of some of the single-phase multilevel inverters can be improved when their dc-link voltages are regulated asymmetrically. Symmetrical and asymmetrical multilevel diode-clamped inverters have ...
A hybrid cascade converter topology with series-connected symmetrical and asymmetrical diode-clamped H-bridge cellsNami, A.; zare, F.; Ghosh, Arindam; Blaabjerg, F. (2011)A novel H-bridge multilevel pulsewidth modulation converter topology based on a series connection of a high-voltage diode-clamped inverter and a low-voltage conventional inverter is proposed in this paper. A dc link voltage ...
