dc.description.abstract

Decision Conferencing is a form of GDSS that rests on the premise that the process and computer modelling it incorporates will provide two crucial benefits to groups trying to solve problems: a) participants develop a shared understanding of the issue they are facing, and b) the Decision conferencing process fosters the generation of a commitment to act on the decision made. This empirical study shows some significant statistical support for this premise, but also demonstrates that there are other factors involved.
