dc.description.abstract

A wearable, telemetric, biosignal monitoring device (so-called body sensor) for long-term, continuous healthcare monitoring is presented in this paper. The body sensor is worn across the chest of patient by using a commercial available Polar strap, for recording beat-to-beat heart pulsation. The body sensor is connected to a smart phone through Bluetooth channel. The smart phone is used to compensate the memory and computation power constraints of the body sensor, by receiving, processing and storing of physiological information. The smart phone also has attractive graphic user interface to allow user to interact with the body sensor, for commanding instructions to the body sensor and displaying data received from the body sensor. This set-up is user friendly for long-term and continuous healthcare monitoring of patient with diverse cardiac diseases.
