    Abstract

This paper presents the gain saturation characteristics for different input pulse shapes in semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs). Finite-difference beam propagation method (FD-BPM) is used for simulation and compared the gain saturation characteristics in SOA for different pulse shapes.
