    Abstract

Kinematically complete fully quantum-mechanical solution of the positron-hydrogen scattering problem is presented above the breakup threshold. The calculations are performed within the convergent coupled-channel formalism. This leads to an unexpected formula for calculating the total ionisation cross section that appears to resolve the remaining discrepancy between theory and experiment.
