This research work developed a novel polymeric carrier system for targeted drug delivery to specific body sites. It utilized unique molecular probes called aptamers that navigate the complexity of mammalian cell systems and present drug molecules to desired locations. The aptamer molecules were tagged onto polymer drug carriers as binding ligands to direct an efficient path towards targeted delivery, avoiding unwanted effects on nontargeted cells and potentially addressing side effects of chemotherapy. | en_US |
