    Abstract

This study focused on developing models to predict the localized folding patterns in geomaterials. For this, we modify the Swift-Hohenbeg using the plate theory and propose a novel mathematical description for folding in viscoelastic environments. Also, we proposed and analyzed new numerical techniques for simulating dynamical problems. For example, we introduce a new class of high-order time integrators.
