dc.description.abstract

This research conceptualises and develops a scale for calculated binge vacationing (CBV). It introduces CBV to a decision-making framework of tourists’ desire and intention to engage in planned, binge-worthy behaviour. The research sets the theoretical groundwork for understanding CBV and predicting intended behaviour. It offers a methodological foundation for measuring CBV. The developed CBV scale pragmatically enables tourism practitioners to identify calculated binge vacationers so as to customise communication, products and services for them.
