dc.description.abstract

Treatment of [33](1,2,4)ferrocenophane (1) with N-methylformanilide and phosphorus oxychloride gave 3-formyl[33](1,2,4)ferrocenophane (2) in 96% yield. Subsequently, (2) was reacted with an ylid in THF and 3-vinyl[33](1,2,4)ferrocenophane (3) was obtained in 88% yield.
