dc.description.abstract

This research sought to understand the power imbalance experienced by 8-12 year old children who are bullied at school. A particular focus was the subtle forms of bullying that are hidden from teachers. Two measurement instruments were developed. One measured physical and social aspects of power, the second measured children’s experience of teacher support. This will inform the design of interventions that will help children cope when they experience bullying at school.
