Development of polymorphic microsatellite markers for Cryptococcus neoformans
MetadataShow full item record
Cryptococcus neoformans is a haploid basidiomycetous yeast that causes life-threatening infections in patients with and without impaired immune function. Present typing systems for C. neoformans are limited by either poor standardization or high cost. We present eleven microsatellite loci that were developed from the published genomes of C. neoformans var. neoformans, and are applicable to the varieties and hybrids within C. neoformans. © 2008 The Authors.

(2010)Cationic antimicrobial peptides have received considerable interest as new therapeutics with the potential for treatment of multiple-drug resistant infections. We recently reported that cholesterol-conjugated G3R6TAT ...
Liu, Lihong; Huang, Y.; Riduan, S.; Gao, S.; Yang, Y.; Fan, W.; Zhang, Y. (2012)Human health has been challenged by multi-drug-resistant microorganisms for several decades. Herein, we have developed a main-chain imidazolium oligomer (IBN-1) material to combat broad spectrum of pathogenic strains, ...
Immunological profiles of immune restoration disease presenting as mycobacterial lymphadenitis and cryptococcal meningitisTan, D.; Yong, Y.; Tan, H.; Kamarulzaman, A.; Tan, L.; Lim, A.; James, I.; French, M.; Price, Patricia (2008)Objectives: A proportion of HIV patients beginning antiretroviral therapy (ART) develop immune restoration disease (IRD). Immunological characteristics of IRD were investigated in a cohort of HIV patients beginning therapy ...
